Happy Mother's Day!

What better way to start off celebrating this special day than to post pictures of some of the favorite mothers in my life?!?

Of course, my favorite mom in the whole wide world is my own! Here she is with another one of my favorite (and new just this year) moms, Alison (and my brother Mac and their son Marley too).

It's amazing how we all regress back to our little tiny selves when we are around our mothers. As independent as I like to think I am in my every day life, when Mama comes around, I am like putty. She cooks for me, cleans for me, and even gives to me the clothes off of her back. (You see, she's far more stylish than I, and I don't usually enjoy shopping. She's my personal shopper!) I wouldn't normally tolerate that kind of servitude in my honor, however, there's just something that makes me give in to that lady taking such good care of me! I don't believe that there's any coincidence, either, that I just happen to be healthy all year 'round, but when I see my Mama, my immune system gives in and I'm sure to get a nasty cold for the next few days that she's around. Who else better to nurse you back to good health than the very woman who gave life to you in the first place?!? Life as an adult with her is just an extension of a wonderful childhood that she (and my dad) provided for us. My only regret is that we are so far away from each other, but such is life, I suppose. So, here's to you, Joann Dambro, I love you so much and I thank you for as many stars there are in the sky for being my mother. Happy Mother's Day! Miss you!!

More of my favorite Moms:

My second mom and mother-in-law, Mary Torres. Here she is with all of her granddaughters: Four sisters dressed in white and cousin Gianna, (clockwise starting with Mom T) Mom, Katie, Mollie, Lexie, Gianna, and Isabella.

My sister-in-law Yole with Gianna (and our niece Mollie too!):

I'm really sad that I don't have pictures of either of my grandmothers in digital form currently, but obviously they would have made the list of my favorite mothers easily! Love you Germa Filly (Emily Filipiak) and Granny D (Jerry Dambro)!!! I'm so lucky to have you both!

Also not pictured are all of my aunts, great aunts, cousins, friends, and colleagues who do so much to make the world go 'round and teach their children the paths to walk down in order to live life right and true.

I hope I can raise my daughter as well as those around me have raised their children over the years. I know it can't be easy, but I'm up for the challenge!

And speaking of my daughter, she is getting quite big! Here she is at 23 weeks:

I am so thankful for Cardo keeping you all updated when I was busy getting ready for and traveling on business to Chicago. His blog entry was so sweet. I have to admit, my heart swelled a bit while reading it! Thanks for posting honey, it really meant a lot! Plus, I received a ton of compliments from those who thoroughly enjoyed the "Husband's Point of View". The one drawback to last week is that we weren't able to spend our 2nd anniversary together, but we were able to enjoy each other's company while I recouped all weekend. As far as I'm concerned, what's one day when you have the opportunity to spend every day with the person you love? Every day is a celebration! Okay, okay...Enough with the cheese factor for a day!

Lastly for this week, I want to post a HUGE thank you to those who have been so generous with donating items to us that they no longer need. They have selflessly saved us hundreds of dollars which we will no doubt need after the little one is born. We are absolutely grateful for your thinking of us!

  • Carrie from my office has given us a Pack n' Play, portable swing, ExerSaucer, and breast pump!
  • Yole sent an adorable pink Newborn outfit...I should also mention that that one was brand new!
  • My boss' wife Diana who is known for her amazing sense of style brought me a huge tub of clothes that her girls have outgrown. I'm positive that many of these clothes have been worn once and that's about it!
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you! We are SO appreciative and will make sure that Baby Torres knows where she got all of her stuff!

That's all she wrote for this week, folks. I wish you all a wonderful week next week and once again, Happy Mother's Day if it applies.

Talk soon and hugs,

Danielle
