We've Missed You!

How in the heck have you been?!?!? Feeling so guilty that we haven't done an update, and there's so MUCH to tell! Rather than bore you with my usual dull narrative about how great this is and that is, I'm just going to tell you what Alessandra's been up to lately now that she's 17 1/2 months old now. Yeah, I know...Old.

Besides walking, running, and jumping, she's climbing up and down beds and couches and stairs and chairs and tables and anything else she can get to. The other day she taught herself to do a gosh darn somersault and now that's a source of huge fun. She's talking and not just "mama" and "daddy" anymore, sir. It's hello, buh-bye, GIMMIE!, thank you, all gone, duckie, puppy, baby, milk, nose, eyes, uh-oh, shhhhhh...I'm sure there's so many more I can't think of! She can point to most of her body parts including her head, eyes, ears, nose, toes, belly button, and feet. I also like to think that I'm teaching her to count to five. (Not really...I actually count on my fingers and she just imitates me...Un, tooo, twee, fa, fa) She loves to dance, and dance, and dance!!! And sing! A-B-C's, Itsy Bitsy Spider, I'm Bringin' Home My Baby Bumblebee, Traditional Mexican music and anything Yo Gabba Gabba. In fact whenever we SAY Yo Gabba Gabba she automatically says "Go! Go! Go! Go!" since they take turns dancing and chant "Go!" Alessandra is a flirt to put all flirts to shame and makes any grown man blush. She does this look, bats her long eyelashes and then looks away fast to pretend she's bashful. She just chased after Liza's Sawyer until she could catch him and kiss him at the Superbowl party. What are we gonna do?!?

She's so tall and nothing is safe. I clearly can no longer place my recycling off to the side like I used to. (Which makes Ricardo happy, that is one of his pet peeves, after all!)

And we went from nappy...

To classy!!!

But yes, the poor girl will definitely be struggling with those crazy curls her whole life. It'll be so pretty when it grows out, but for now, it literally. grows. out. Like horizontal and not vertical.

Eye update! We went for the followup visit to the pediatric opthamologist and she did affirm that Alessandra's eyes will be different colors for the rest of her life. One thing I didn't quite understand the first visit, is that the darker eye is not just a darker color, it's actually like a "mole" on the iris of your eye. Like any big mole on your skin, they just like to keep an eye on it once in awhile to make sure nothing major changes. Know who else has this eye issue? Kate Bosworth. Look her up...She's purty! :)

We are also very much getting into our animals. We can make the sounds of a puppy, monkey, elephant, owl, horse, sheep, cow, pig, lion/tiger...Here we're working on our dolphin sound. eeeeeeeeeee! eeeeeeee! eeeeeeee! eeeeeeeee! Or is it easier to say glub, glub, glub?

Still happy...But learning manipulation very well....Of which pictures I will not post.

As you can tell I got a really good bathtime session the other day.

I love her little lips.

I love HER. :)
