Okay, now with appropriate music I can begin.
May is a wonderful month!
My handsome-pants hubby turned 32 on May 18th! I sincerely can't believe that I knew him when he was merely a boy of 19. I have a secret to share: I like him better as a grown man. Fine wine takes time, and at Ricardo Torres Vineyards, I happen to like my wine vintage. Keep on fermenting, honey! (Now, if I could just figure out a way to store him on his side in a dark and cool cellar and only take him out when I need him that would be perfect!) Kidding, kidding! Happy birthday, honey. I love you so much! And introducing...

She is SO eensy weensy, I just want to squeeze her and kiss those little chubber cheeks! Angie, Aaron, and Elena are all doing fantastic after a very long labor. Welcome, little one. I love you so much already.
And speaking of love...

...Alessandra continues to thrive and ridiculously impress us each day with some new or improved-upon feat. She now knows every letter in it's capital form and remembers (and "reads" to herself) new stories that we've read only a few times. We are starting to actually be able to understand her when she talks, and she follows directions when she's not being defiant. She's an excellent runner and jumper and thrower (and not so much of a catcher, or a cautious stopper when it comes to darting out onto our street.) Of course, all of this activity makes for far more scratches, bruises and bumps which are not necessarily flattering to a dainty and flawless peaches and cream little girl we've grown so used to. In a desperate act of acceptance, we tell ourselves that the regular bruises up and down her legs (from falling) and the scratches on her cheeks and nose (from running into things) make her look decidedly tough and athletic! We'll be addressing grace at another time, evidently.
As for new adventures, I am excited to take her to a real beach for her first time ever! Ali and I will be making the trip to Fort Myers to go visit Grandma Jo and Germa Filly next week. I predict my next update will be chock-full of white sand, sea animals, and adorable swimsuits. Until then, big hugs and I hope you'll see sunshine too!!
