It's about time, Sawyer! You were making your poor mama miserable! Due on March 11th, you were a week late and so an induction was scheduled. Finally, the day arrived, and as stubborn as you were, you wouldn't even budge after 8 hours of a Pitocin drip (among other various methods).
The doctor decided that the best bet (especially since you were so big) was to have mom undergo a Cesarean Section. It took all of about 15 minutes to make the incisions and extract you, and an additional half hour to get her all stitched and ready for recovery. You were healthy, gorgeous, and angry!
Poor Liza was exhausted and in a tremendous amount of pain that night. Visiting hours were over and she was none too pleased! I can't imagine what a long day it must have been for all involved.
Mom and baby continue to do well and are adjusting to this new chapter in their lives just fine so far. Everyone checked out of the hospital today and will surely enjoy the sleepless nights to come a little more easily in their own beds sans the frequent overhead speaker pages and visits from random nursestaff. (As helpful as they were!)
I wish I could have snapped more and better pictures, but I guarantee that there will be plenty for you in future updates! Here are a few:
