Much as I'd like to say that it's already March, I can't help but feel that it's only March at the same time. Time has a funny way of becoming relative like that, doesn't it? Here we are, supposedly over the hump of one of the coldest Minnesota winters in a decade, yet there's still no sign of a thaw in sight. It's difficult not to suffer from the winter blues at this point after enduring it for so long. Day in, day out, you awake to gray skies and blustery weather.
Slush and cold wind make way for more slush and cold wind. Sometimes if we're lucky, the weather warms up just enough for it to snow. Daylight is short and the roads are icy. All of these things invariably make for a long winter, as I mentioned. Which is why it's just as difficult to believe that already it's been over two months since the day before my birthday, January 2nd, when I was a week late, a little queasy in the shower and a bit faint after I stepped out of said shower...The same night that I resolved to stop home after work to pick up a pregnancy test, just to rule it out. After following the instructions to the T and administering one of the most fool-proof tests on the market not once but TWICE, I guess it wasn't in the cards to rule it out.
Fool proof -- "Pregnant"[!!!!!!!!]
So there it is: Ready or not, we're pregnant! Six more months to go and life as we know it will be...Well...Different! And so, to review our [very fast] first trimester:
6 weeks 2 days -- We're having a baby shrimp!
7 weeks 3 days -- See the dark line across the middle? That's the spine! What 13 weeks looks like on the outside...A "pooch"!
I intend to keep this blog updated for those of you who can't be here with us to witness the daily changes that seem to be ever-constant. It will definitely be a very interesting and fun next few months. Thanks for taking the time to share in our little slice of life with us!
Hugs to all!
Danielle
